Job summary

VAM USA in Houston, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support electrical and mechanical maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, and on-site contractor coordination.

Qualifications

• 3 years of maintenance and machine tool repair experience.
• Coursework in mechanics, electrical, electronics, metallurgy, or related field from a high school/technical/community college.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 75 lbs.
• Must use Smartsheet/Excel to manage preventive and corrective maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform and manage preventive maintenance for equipment as scheduled.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment; coordinate repairs with engineers and lab supervisors.
• Test equipment after repair to ensure operability.
• Perform electrical/mechanical repair and installation to meet codes.
• Perform plumbing repair and installation to meet codes; install piping and hoses for air/hydraulic/water.
• Service and repair high pressure components for testing; rebuild pumps and valves.
• Manage on-site contractors, safety orientation, and permits (LOTO, hot work).
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.
• Maintain LO TO program and training materials.
• Follow instructions and company policies; keep clean work areas.
