Job summary

Hunt Electric is seeking an experienced Estimator to accurately forecast costs, materials, and labor for electrical manufacturing projects. You will work with Production Managers, Engineers, VDC/BIM, Project Managers, Purchasing, and external customers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery by interpreting specs and blueprints and preparing detailed estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• Proven estimating experience in manufacturing or electrical construction.
• Proficiency in reading electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, drawings, and documents to understand requirements.
• Identify scope of work and quantities for manufacturing components.
• Compute costs for materials, labor, equipment, and other resources.
• Create BOMs and procurement lists for purchasing.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineers, VDC, PMs and Suppliers.
• Identify risks like material availability and lead times; propose mitigations.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and cost-saving improvements.

Education

Bachelor’s or associate degree in an Engineering discipline

Proven estimating experience in manufacturing or electrical construction

Reading electrical drawings and specifications

Strong analytical and mathematical skills

Excellent communication and collaboration
