Job summary

Hunt Electric Corporation is seeking an Estimator to accurately estimate costs, materials, and labor for manufacturing projects. You will collaborate with Production Managers, Engineers, VDC/BIM, PMs, Purchasing, and external customers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Responsibilities include material takeoffs, BOM creation, and risk assessment, with a focus on electrical components and codes. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and strong communication within a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in an Engineering discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical, industrial) or Construction Management preferred.
• Proven estimating experience in manufacturing or general/electrical construction preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Familiarity with estimating software and tools (Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam).
• Excellent communication and people skills for collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Project Analysis: Review project specs, drawings, and documents to understand requirements.
• Cost Estimation: Use software to calculate material, labor, equipment costs; prepare proposals.
• Material Takeoff: Create BOMs and procurement lists from blueprints and specs.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with Production, Engineers, VDC, PMs, Purchasing, and customers.
• Risk Assessment: Identify risks like material availability and lead times; develop mitigation.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry practices; suggest cost-saving measures.
