Job summary

Hunt Electric is seeking an Estimator 2 to prepare complete electrical estimates for industrial and commercial projects, including automotive, mission critical, and healthcare sectors. You will interpret design drawings and assemble quotations and subcontracts.

The role requires 3+ years of electrical estimating experience and NEC knowledge, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and estimating software. Hybrid work options support balancing accuracy and collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) year degree in Electrical Construction or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience in electrical conceptual estimating, low voltage estimating, NEC requirements, and design/build estimating required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe/Bluebeam, and virtual meeting software.
• Computerized estimating skills using Enterprise or another estimating software.
• Competent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management skills.
• Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret the design drawings submitted across disciplines.
• Attend pre-bid and final bid reviews with Estimating Team and Business Development.
• Review bid documents and attend pre-bid meetings and job walks to determine scope.
• Prepare and seek quotation of materials and subcontracts.
• Utilize estimating software to estimate projects and perform takeoffs.
• Estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs for projects.
• Write scope letters and prepare supporting documents for proposals.
• Maintain detailed records of estimate revisions for turnover to PMs.
