Job summary

Service Electric Company is seeking an experienced Estimator to collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to create estimates and assemble bids for projects. The role supports profitability and workforce optimization in core markets, with autonomy on routine matters and oversight from a manager on complex issues.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in construction-related field, 3+ years of estimating in electrical construction, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent knowledge/experience.
• 3+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction.
• Strong experience in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Underground electrical work experience strongly preferred.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and solve issues.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
• Collaborate with Lead and Senior Estimators to prepare documents for legal review.
• Identify bid type and scope, construction timeframes, materials, and labor costs and bonding/bid requirements.
• Travel to pre-bid meetings and jobsites as needed.
• Identify project risks and discuss with Lead and Senior Estimators.
• Recommend subcontractors/materials and gather quotes.
• Perform takeoffs and build project/construction plans with supporting docs.
• Finalize schedule and work plan with Lead/Senior Estimators.
