Job summary

Butcher Power Products seeks a Manufacturing Electrical Engineer to own the manufacturing process by which our switchboard and switchgear products are wired and electrically assembled.

Working from the wiring design group’s released diagrams and panel layouts, you will develop, document, and continuously improve the processes, tooling, and work instructions that build those products safely, repeatably, and at cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electromechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 3+ years in manufacturing or process engineering for electrical assembly, panel wiring, or switchgear/switchboard production.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, process improvement, and production flow.
• Able to read and redline schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and point-to-point/wire lists.
• Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A wiring practices; familiar with UL 891 construction.
• Experience authoring work instructions, routings, and process docs; hands‑on wire termination methods and torque.

Responsibilities

• Process Development: Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes, routings, and work instructions based on wiring diagrams.
• Production Support: Provide hands‑on floor support and engineering escalation for wiring issues; drive corrective actions.
• Tooling & Fixtures: Specify and implement tooling, fixtures, and wiring stations; keep equipment calibrated.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and cycle time.
• Design for Manufacturability: Partner with Product/Electrical Engineering to provide DFM feedback and develop production processes for NPIs.
• Build-to-Print & Design Conformance: Own conformance; verify as‑built vs. released docs; route redlines via ECO.
• Process Documentation: Develop and maintain routings, SOPs, and process records.
• Process Controls & Capability: Own PFMEAs and control plans; support corrective/preventive actions.
• Data Analysis: Track KPIs such as wiring cycle time, scrap/rework, and first‑pass yield.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure UL/NFPA/NEC compliance; support UL inspections.
