Job summary

Butcher Power Products is seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to own conformance across switchboard and switchgear build, from incoming materials to final test and customer acceptance. You will own NCR/CAPA, ensure as-built docs match, and maintain audit-ready QMS documentation, working with manufacturing and engineering to eliminate defects.

The role sets quality strategy for new product introductions, leads floor-level investigations, and guides inspectors and technicians as the team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing).
• 3+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Proficiency with FMEA, control plans, SPC, RCA, and 8D (or equivalent).
• Ability to read/evaluate engineering drawings, schematics, and GD&T callouts.
• Hands-on experience with inspection and metrology equipment.
• Experience with document control and procedure development.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain inspection and testing plans for new and existing products.
• Establish new inspection methods, frequencies, and acceptance criteria.
• Perform FAI and prepare FAI reports.
• Support PPAP documentation and submissions.
• Conduct MSA and Gauge R&R studies.
• Develop and maintain process FMEAs, control plans, and inspection criteria.
• Implement and monitor SPC for key manufacturing processes.
• Conduct Cpk/Ppk studies and drive corrective actions.
• Identify and support process improvements to reduce scrap and cycle time.
• Support NPI quality planning; participate in quality planning for new products.
• Own NCR process end-to-end: open, track, disposition, root-cause facilitation, closure.
• Lead root cause analyses (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) and CAPA through closure.
• Support supplier quality investigations and warranty-related issues.
• Maintain ISO 9001 QMS documentation and audits; ensure audit readiness.
• Oversee calibration program for inspection and test equipment.
• Prepare materials for Management Reviews with Quality Director.
• Collaborate with design/engineering to ensure manufacturability and inspectability.
