Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an on-site electrical technician to service and maintain electrical equipment across the designated facility.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues using test equipment, and ensure compliance with NEC/NFPA standards and Cummins specs. The role requires strong safety practices, experience with plant electrical distribution, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to keep systems running smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree with 2–4 years of relevant experience or trade certificate with 6 years.
• Eight years of relevant experience or Department of Labor certification.
• Journeyman Electrician

Responsibilities

• Maintain electrical equipment and perform preventative maintenance using Maximo.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems using test equipment to locate and fix problems.
• Ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA 70E, Cummins specs and applicable standards for 600V and below.
• Plan, install, test, and troubleshoot electrical wiring and components.
• Coordinate with facilities to determine loading and locations for additions.
• Order supplies and manage spare parts inventories.
• Document wiring layouts and ensure compliance with building and safety codes.
• Track maintenance work using software and building management system.
• Follow startup procedures and safety policies.
• Communicate technical information to customers.
• Participate in training and safety initiatives.
