Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance to join our Indiana Harbor team in East Chicago, IN. This front‑line leadership role directs a skilled electrical maintenance crew, prioritizes safety, and ensures reliable, efficient plant operations.

You will lead daily maintenance activities, coach technicians, troubleshoot electrical and control systems, and drive continuous improvement with Operations, Reliability, and Engineering.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of electrical maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and safe work practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of PLCs and automated control systems, motors, drives, instrumentation, and power distribution.
• Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems and cranes.
• Ability to work in industrial environments and rotate shifts.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Maintenance Technician Electrical (MTE) employees during assigned shifts, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with EH&S and quality requirements.
• Coordinate and prioritize daily electrical maintenance activities to support production and operational goals.
• Provide hands‑on leadership and technical support for troubleshooting electrical, automation, and control system issues.
• Monitor equipment performance and drive improvements to reliability and uptime.
• Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance employees through training and performance conversations.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Reliability, and other departments to minimize downtime.
• Complete administrative responsibilities including work assignments, documentation, and shift communications.
