Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking an Apprentice 1st Year in the Mississippi service area. Under close supervision, you will assist in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution conductors, structures, and equipment, performing basic tasks from climbing poles to preparing reports and records.

This entry-level program provides hands-on training and a path to journeyman status.

Qualifications

• Apprentice 1st Year: under close supervision, perform less difficult tasks and assist others in high and low voltage line work.
• Assists with basic construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution conductors, structures and equipment.
• Must obtain/maintain a valid Class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Use pole climbing equipment and climb poles safely.
• Assist in erecting wood and steel structures and foundations.
• Make up/install guys and conductors on dead circuits up to 600 volts.
• Assist in simple transmission and distribution switching (with qualified lineman).
• Assist in trimming trees and routine inspections/maintenance.
