Qualifications

• 5+ years in hardware sustaining, product engineering, or test engineering.
• Experience in consumer electronics or hardware manufacturing.
• PCB layout and schematic capture proficiency.
• Experience with BOM management and component lifecycle.
• Component datasheet analysis and alternate qualification.
• Hardware/Firmware integration and embedded systems knowledge.
• 8D, FMEA, Fishbone, 5-Why RCA techniques.
• Familiarity with IPC standards.
• PLM/PDM systems and formal change management.
• CAD/3D modeling for electromechanical design.

Responsibilities

• Conduct BOM scrubs to identify at-risk components and qualify alternatives.
• Perform Change Impact Analysis for component changes and assess risks.
• Create and execute ECO packages with schematics, PCB layouts, CAD models, and validation plans.
• Partner with firmware/software teams to validate releases against hardware configurations.
• Lead 8D Failure Analysis investigations with containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
• Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Design to resolve field and production failures permanently.
