  • Component datasheet analysis and alternate qualification.
  • Hardware/Firmware integration and embedded systems knowledge.
  • 8D, FMEA, Fishbone, 5-Why RCA techniques.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards.
  • PLM/PDM systems and formal change management.
  • CAD/3D modeling for electromechanical design.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct BOM scrubs to identify at-risk components and qualify alternatives.
  • Perform Change Impact Analysis for component changes and assess risks.
  • Create and execute ECO packages with schematics, PCB layouts, CAD models, and validation plans.
  • Partner with firmware/software teams to validate releases against hardware configurations.
  • Lead 8D Failure Analysis investigations with containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Design to resolve field and production failures permanently.

Electrical Engineer – Hardware Test & Validation
Location: New York City, NY
Onsite
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive BOM scrubs to identify at-risk and EOL components and recommend/qualify alternatives.
  • Perform Change Impact Analysis (CIA) for component changes, evaluating form, fit, function, and associated risks.
  • Create and execute complete ECO packages, including schematics, PCB layouts, CAD models, and validation plans.
  • Partner with firmware/software teams to validate releases against hardware configurations.
  • Lead 8D Failure Analysis investigations, including containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Design teams to resolve field and production failures permanently.
Required Skills
  • 5+ years of experience in Hardware Sustaining, Product Engineering, or Test Engineering
  • Consumer electronics or hardware manufacturing experience
  • PCB layout and schematic capture experience
  • BOM management and electronic component lifecycle management
  • Component datasheet/specification analysis and alternate component qualification
  • Hardware/Firmware integration and embedded systems knowledge
