Vertex is seeking an Electrical Forensic Engineer in Fort Lauderdale to investigate electrical system failures across residential, commercial, industrial, and utility-related equipment. You will conduct field inspections, analyze evidence, and prepare technical reports for clients, insurers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

This role blends engineering, field work, and investigation, requiring curiosity, attention to detail, and strong communication to explain complex concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or 5 years related work experience and no degree.
• EIT certification is required.
• PE license is preferred, but not required.

Responsabilités

• Conduct forensic investigations of electrical system failures, fires, explosions, and equipment damage.
• Perform site inspections to document conditions, collect evidence, and evaluate electrical components.
• Analyze data and documentation to determine cause and origin of failures.
• Develop engineering opinions supported by standards and best practices.
• Prepare clear technical reports summarizing findings and conclusions.
• Review drawings, maintenance records, and incident reports.
• Assist with litigation support, including exhibits and expert analyses.
