Job summary

The Vertex Companies LLC is seeking an Electrical Forensic Engineer to investigate electrical system failures across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. You will conduct field inspections, analyze evidence, and prepare reports for clients, carriers, attorneys, and other stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in engineering with 2+ years of experience or an advanced degree with related focus; EIT is required, PE is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree with no experience, or 5 years with no degree.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required; PE license is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct forensic investigations of electrical system failures, fires, explosions, and equipment damage.
• Perform field site inspections to document conditions and collect evidence.
• Analyze engineering data and documentation to determine root causes.
• Prepare clear, concise technical reports with findings and conclusions.
• Review drawings, specs, maintenance records, and incident reports.
• Assist with litigation support, including exhibits and expert analyses.
