Job summary

Comfort Systems USA is seeking an experienced Foreman Electrician to lead a crew on commercial/industrial electrical projects in Chesapeake, VA. You will oversee Journeyman, Apprentices and Helpers, coordinate tasking, readings, and safety while delivering quality work on schedule.

You will read blueprints, specs, and schematics, develop material lists, mentor crew, and ensure all work complies with NEC and local codes. Weekend/overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial/industrial settings.
• Ability to lead and coach a team of five workers.
• Reads project specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Familiarity with BlueBeam and Navisworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
• Work alongside their crew and ensure quality of work to the highest standards.
• Assist in developing an effective manpower schedule for their team.
• Develop material lists from layouts, area prints, and job site demands and communicate lists to supervision.
• Help achieve production and budget goals by understanding tasks and communicating them to the team.
• Ensure all work by crew complies with local and NEC guidelines.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install conduit using tools.
• Install and terminate electrical devices, fixtures, panels, and feeders.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuitry.
• Read and understand project specs, blueprints, schematics.
• Lay out small work areas from drawings and documents, including underground layout.
• Determine wire, conduit, and junction box sizing.
• Troubleshoot lighting and general power circuits.
