Graybar Electric Company, Inc. is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow our electrical product lines.

You will develop new prospects and maintain contact with established customers, visiting them at their sites of business or other off-site locations. In this role you will meet or exceed annual gross margin targets, handle customer issues, keep management informed about competition, manage accounts, and participate in trade shows and sales meetings.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of industry-specific sales experience.
• A four-year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales and marketing.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn the business and work independently to hit targets.
• Strong selling and persuasive abilities.
• Extensive travel, including overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin targets by promoting and selling products in the assigned territory in line with pricing policies.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandise programs as directed, and recommend new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records and assist in collecting past-due accounts.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings as requested.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
