Job summary

Service Electric Company, a subsidiary of Quanta Services, is seeking an Estimator to join our growing team. You will collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors and internal staff to create estimates and assemble bids for electrical projects in our core markets.

Expect to travel for pre-bid meetings and site visits, identify bid scope, materials and labor costs, and help develop project plans with senior estimators. Strong Excel and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent knowledge or skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
• 3+ Years of estimating experience in the electrical construction field.
• Strong experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
• Experience in underground electrical work strongly preferred.
• Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and solve issues.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently with good time management.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to conducts self in an appropriate manner as a representative of SEC, working effectively in a diverse work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
• Collaborate with Lead and Senior Estimators to prepare documents for legal review.
• Identify bid type and scope, construction timeframes, materials, and labor expenses, and bonding and bid requirements.
• Travel to and attend pre-bid meetings and/or to jobsites.
• Identify potential project risks and discuss with the Lead and Senior Estimators.
• Make recommendations on subcontractors and materials and gather quotes.
• Takeoffs and build out project plans and construction plans with supporting docs.
• Finalize schedule and work plan with Lead and Senior Estimators.
• Complete bid forms and submit final bid with leadership approval.
• Maintain bid logs and assist with labor/equipment rate schedules.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Field Leadership to set up the job correctly.
