Job summary

Service Electric Company in West Virginia is seeking an Estimator to collaborate with clients, vendors and our internal team to prepare bids for electrical construction projects that improve profitability and align with project schedules. You will travel to pre-bid meetings and jobsites, manage RFPs, perform takeoffs, prepare bid documents, and support senior estimators in risk assessment and scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 3+ years of estimating experience in the electrical construction field.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and solve issues.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with strong PM capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
• Collaborate with Lead and Senior Estimators to prepare documents for legal review.
• Identify bid type and scope, timeframes, materials, labor, bonding and bid requirements.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and jobsites; travel as needed.
• Identify project risks and discuss with leads.
• Recommend subcontractors/materials and gather quotes.
• Perform takeoffs and build project plans with supporting docs.
• Finalize schedule and work plan with leads; clarify expectations.
• Complete bid forms and submit final bid with leadership approval.
• Maintain bid logs and assist with rate schedules.
• Collaborate with Project Management and Field Leadership to set up the job.
