Job summary

Service Electric Company is seeking an Estimator to collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors and internal teams to prepare estimates and bids for underground electrical projects. The role requires coordination with senior estimators and management to ensure accurate takeoffs and competitive proposals.

The position involves travel for pre-bid meetings and site visits, with opportunities to contribute to project planning and risk assessment across core markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent knowledge or skills.
• 3+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction.
• Experience with underground electrical construction.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
• Collaborate with Lead and Senior Estimators to prepare documents for legal review.
• Identify bid type, scope, timelines, materials and labor costs, and bonding requirements.
• Travel to pre-bid meetings and/or jobsites as needed.
• Identify potential project risks and discuss with lead estimators.
• Recommend subcontractors and materials and gather quotes.
• Assist with takeoffs and project plans including documentation.
• Finalize schedule and work plan with senior estimators and leaders.
