Infinite Consulting Corp in New York, NY, is seeking an Electrical Estimator to review plans, prepare electrical estimates, and collaborate with project teams. The role supports bids for new projects and change orders, with a focus on electrical systems and materials.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in construction estimation, familiar with MEP systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.

Job title: Electrical Estimator- Infinite Consulting Corp

Location: New York, NY

Work arrangements: (Work from Home, but must be located in the NYC Metro area to attend occasional meetings or meet project requirements)

Compensation: $90,000-$115,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation presented by the client to accurately prepare and estimate projects, with a focus on electrical systems and scopes of work.
• Collaborate with project leads and leadership to develop electrical estimates as part of the larger project scope package.
• Prepare detail-oriented and accurate electrical estimates for new projects and estimate pricing for change orders on existing contracts, meeting assigned deadlines.
• Prepare takeoffs of electrical materials, estimate all necessary shop labor and field installation, and determine material, buyout item, and equipment costs to prepare thorough bid estimates.
• Read and interpret job bid instructions, electrical drawings, and detailed specifications; prepare material takeoffs and estimate all necessary electrical labor, materials, buyout items, and equipment costs, including specialty equipment such as lifts or generators, to prepare comprehensive price estimates.
• Work directly with Sales and Preconstruction Teams to understand the size and scope of electrical projects, along with project timelines and applicable bid deadlines.
• Be comfortable discussing alternative recommendations for projects where management requires value engineering or alternative electrical systems/materials to meet client and project needs.
• Prepare electrical pricing estimates for new projects and change orders on existing contracts and summarize results with appropriate leaders to ensure complete coverage of the electrical scope.

Necessary Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent years of experience)
• Experience: Electrical Estimator 7 years of experience in construction estimation, preferably with electrical systems.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, MEP systems, methods, and industry best practices. Familiar with HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection Systems, Basic Mech Design knowledge.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain estimates to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Analytical Skills: Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Software Proficiency: Proficient in construction estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective working relationships.
