Job summary

Infinite Consulting Corp is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for an anticipated program supporting public infrastructure in New York City. The role combines senior construction estimating with development of digital systems to improve estimating, scheduling, reporting and delivery.

Prior MTA experience is required and the assignment is projected for ~3 years with possible extension. Schedule: Mon–Fri, 7:00–3:30 or 8:00–4:30 with a 30-minute lunch.

About the Role

Infinite Consulting Corp. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for an anticipated opportunity supporting public infrastructure projects. This role combines senior construction estimating with hands-on development of digital systems that improve estimating, scheduling, reporting and project delivery. Prior experience supporting MTA projects is required.

The anticipated assignment is approximately 3 years with a potential 12-month extension. Assignment commencement and duration are subject to client approval and project authorization.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, either 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., including a half-hour unpaid lunch.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and assess construction cost estimates using AACE Class 1–5 estimating standards and established project methodologies.


• Use construction estimating tools, including Bluebeam and RS Means Online, to improve accuracy and efficiency.


• Prepare change-order estimates and bid analyses; compare estimated values with actual post-bid results.


• Support value engineering, constructability reviews and indirect rate analysis.


• Design, develop and manage Power Apps, Power Automate workflows and Power BI dashboards; connect data from IMPACT, PeopleSoft and P6.


• Establish, manage and optimize SQL databases for project estimating data, and develop and customize SharePoint sites for collaboration.


• Build advanced Excel models using pivot tables, macros and VBA; apply AI prompting to automate workflows and improve estimating, scheduling and data visualization.


• Integrate digital tools and platforms to streamline estimating and reporting and enable efficient data exchange.


• Migrate estimating data and structure libraries into new HCSS database libraries.


• Apply CPM scheduling methods to connect data across Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Planner and other project platforms.


• Perform other related estimating and digital-systems work as needed.

  Skills Education and Experience Qualifications:



• Prior experience supporting MTA projects.


• Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field.


• At least seven years of experience preparing construction estimates.


• At least seven years of experience with construction estimating software, such as Bluebeam and RS Means Online.


• At least four years of experience using Power Platform and Power BI to develop advanced digital applications for project and program management.


• At least five years of demonstrated experience applying AACE Class 1–5 estimating standards.


• At least five years of demonstrated experience estimating personal services contracts.


• At least five years of experience reviewing estimates for compliance with scopes of work in contract documents.


• Advanced Excel proficiency, including pivot tables, macros and VBA scripting, and demonstrated knowledge of AI prompting to design and implement productivity solutions.


• Demonstrated experience linking Power Platform applications with server systems, including IMPACT, PeopleSoft and P6.


• Experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 and Planner, with proficiency in CPM scheduling methodology.


• Knowledge of Excel, Access, Word and Unifier.


• Experience with estimating data structure libraries and transferring data into new database structures.


• Demonstrated leadership, coordination, communication and negotiation skills.

  Preferred qualifications




• Master’s degree in a relevant field.




• Power Platform Fundamentals certification or equivalent.




• Your resume should clearly demonstrate relevant project experience, software development work and the required years of experience.
