A privately owned union electrical contractor in the NYC metro area is adding an Electrical Estimator to a tight, senior-led estimating team. Most of its work is mission critical data centers and hospitals, with commercial, industrial, and traffic projects alongside, and bids run from small service jobs to nine-figure data centers. Large bids are built as a team, with each estimator taking assigned systems that roll into one number, and specs are read line by line. This is a fully on-site role, Monday through Friday. For a detail-driven estimator, it offers bigger projects, a close-knit team, and room to move up as the company keeps growing.
- Anticipated $130K-$150K, based on experience
- Benefits include: Employer-paid Health (employee and family), Dental, Vision, 401K w/ match, PTO, holidays

- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, on-site
Overview:
- Own the electrical bid from plan review to submission on mission critical, healthcare, commercial, and industrial projects.
- Take off quantities and price labor, material, and equipment so the bid wins work and still makes money.
- Solicit, level, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes, and tell project management where the risk sits.
- Work large bids as part of a team, taking assigned systems and merging them into one clean estimate.
- Catch spec and addenda issues before bid day, including redundancy scope and active-facility requirements in hospitals.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits.
- Support conceptual budgets, design-build proposals, and change order pricing.
- Keep historical pricing and labor productivity data current so the next bid is sharper than the last.
