Job summary

Ampirical Solutions LLC is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a cohesive relay protection and control design team at our Metairie, LA HQ. The role reports to the Director of Relay Engineering and collaborates across groups to shape business planning, strategy, and execution.

You will recruit, mentor, and manage engineers, drafters, and designers, driving technical excellence and timely project delivery. Travel is expected ~10% for site visits and client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, Electrical Engineering preferred.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required with 12+ years experience; 14+ years without a PE.
• Proven track record in utility design, EPC projects, relay protection and control.

Responsibilities

• Train, coach, supervise, and mentor Relay Engineers and Designers.
• Lead a team of Engineers, Designers, and Drafters for relay protection projects.
• Manage resource planning, performance, and professional development.
• Drive technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Contribute to proposals, work scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, contractors to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor KPIs and project delivery within budget and schedule.
• Participate in business planning and departmental strategy.
• Recruit and balance talent across relay design capabilities.
• Present technical topics to groups with varying experience; travel ~10% to site visits.
