Job summary

Ampirical Solutions LLC is seeking a Relay Drafting Team Lead in Covington, LA, with a transition to Metairie after a 3–6 month training period. You will lead a team of drafting professionals, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality engineering solutions and mentorship throughout growth.

The role requires leadership experience, AutoCAD proficiency, and strong communication. You will coordinate with engineering and management to meet customer standards and company values.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include drafting experience with related degree paths or equivalent.
• Senior level requires 4+ years drafting plus a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Leadership experience and strong MS Office skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a drafting team to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
• Provide direction, coaching, and support to your team to foster cohesion.
• Monitor project progress, address challenges, and ensure deliverables meet standards.
• Assist supervisor with project pipeline, workload, and resource allocation.
• Back-check work and uphold drafting standards in line with company values.
• Collaborate with engineering to deliver designs meeting customer specs.
• Participate in hiring and evaluating team members.
• Create drawing packages including Protection & Controls and Substation deliverables.
• Approve and verify team member timesheets.
