Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an Electrical Engineering Leader for its Sustainability team in Tysons, VA. You will build and lead a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on improving the performance, safety, and reliability of electrical systems across facilities.

You will apply expertise in arc flash analysis, power systems studies, and safety compliance to deliver high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions while collaborating with facilities, operations, and other engineering groups.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
U.S. Citizenship and Top-Secret clearance eligibility required.
PE license required.
U.S. work authorization.
10+ years in electrical engineering with leadership in existing buildings/infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Perform arc flash hazard analysis in accordance with IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination, and load flow studies.
Develop electrical system models using SKM, PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower.
Collect and interpret site electrical data (one-lines, equipment ratings, settings).
Update electrical one-line diagrams for client facilities.
Prepare arc flash reports with incident energy and PPE levels.
Provide guidance on electrical safety compliance and risk mitigation.
Collaborate with field technicians, safety personnel, and project managers.
Develop and deliver training on electrical safety and arc flash awareness.
