M.C. Dean, Inc. in McLean, VA, seeks a Commissioning Engineering Leader to build and guide a team focused on electrical system performance, safety, and reliability across facilities.

The role blends leadership with deep expertise in power systems studies, arc flash analysis, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will work with facilities, operations and engineering teams, develop and review one-line diagrams, perform IEEE/NFPA analyses, mentor staff, and travel to client sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field is required.
• PE license is required or must be obtainable.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance is required.
• Experience with arc flash analysis and coordination schemes.
• Familiarity with IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E standards.

Responsabilités

• Perform detailed arc flash hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Conduct short-circuit, protective device coordination, and load flow studies.
• Develop electrical system models using SKM, PowerTools, ETAP, or EasyPower.
• Collect site data, review diagrams, and tailor protective device settings.
• Lead multidisciplinary team and provide client-facing training and guidance.
