Job summary

M.C. Dean Sustainability team is seeking an Electrical Engineer to lead performance, safety, and reliability improvements for electrical systems at client facilities in Tysons, VA. The role combines power systems studies, power quality analysis, and field collaboration to ensure compliance and operational excellence.

You will develop models in SKM/ETAP, produce arc flash reports, coordinate with operations, field technicians, and project managers, and mentor teams on safety best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of work experience with a BS in Engineering; 3+ years with an MS.
• Experience leading troubleshooting, commissioning, and testing in power systems.
• Experience in electrical engineering focused on existing buildings and infrastructure.
• Knowledge of electrical power and distribution systems.
• Experience interpreting drawings, utility coordination, and protective relaying schemes.

Responsibilities

• Perform arc flash hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Conduct short-circuit, coordination, and load flow studies.
• Perform power quality analyses at facilities and develop system models.
• Develop one-line diagrams; collect site data and ratings.
• Prepare arc flash reports with incident energy and PPE guidance.
• Provide guidance on electrical safety compliance and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with field technicians, safety personnel, and PMs on data collection and execution.
• Assist in developing and delivering electrical safety training materials.
