Job summary

The 12-week program begins May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates. You will work on tasks like substation design, transmission/distribution projects, and learn about system protection while adhering to WSP's safety policies.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and related field.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.
• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks with the goal of developing technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Work under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Participate in substation design, including physical, electrical, relaying, and grounding aspects.
• Support transmission and distribution projects.
• Gain experience in system relaying and protection, including station and transmission relaying, and distribution coordination studies.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
