Job summary

WSP USA in Austin, TX is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Engineering (Substation) Intern to gain hands-on experience in our Power and Energy practice. The temporary role is for undergraduates or graduate students and is part of the 12‑week Summer Internship Program starting May 17, 2027.

You will work alongside senior staff on real projects, learn fundamental Electrical Engineering concepts, and assist with research, field work, preliminary design calculations, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate or graduate program with graduation August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Electrical Engineering and projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to take direction and work with mentors.
• Basic proficiency with office software and technical tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans and cost estimates.
