WSP USA is offering a Summer Internship in Electrical Engineering (Small Utility) based in Tyler, TX. This full-time, 12-week program starts May 17, 2027, for undergrad or graduate students enrolled in ABET-accredited programs.

Interns will work alongside senior engineers on substations, transmission, and distribution projects, gaining hands-on experience while developing technical and professional skills. The internship emphasizes mentorship through WSP's Developing Professionals Network and

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in ABET-accredited electrical engineering program or EE technology with expected graduation August 2027 or later.
Must be 18 or older.
Demonstrated interest in electrical engineering—power systems or related field.

Responsibilities

Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
Work under the guidance of experienced engineers.
Participate in substation design including physical, electrical, relaying, and grounding aspects.
Support transmission and distribution projects.
Gain experience in system relaying and protection studies.
Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
