WSP USA is offering a Full-Time Electrical Engineering Intern (Small Utility) position in Lakewood, CO. The 12-week Summer Internship Program starts May 17, 2027, with a flexible start date for some roles, and provides mentorship, networking, and hands-on experience in power delivery and energy projects.

You will work under experienced engineers, supporting various tasks across substations, transmission, and distribution while developing technical, social, and ethical skills.

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in ABET-accredited electrical engineering bachelor’s degree or electrical engineering technology program with anticipated graduation August 2027 or later.
Must be 18 or older.
Interest in electrical engineering—power systems or related field.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
Able to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and tools.
Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

Assist in substation design tasks including physical, electrical, relaying, and grounding aspects.
Support transmission and distribution projects.
Gain experience in system relaying and protection and distribution coordination studies.
Collect and maintain project documentation.
Complete training on assigned tasks.
Uphold WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
