Job summary

WSP USA invites students to join as a Full‑Time Electrical Engineering (Distribution) Intern in Overland Park, KS. This 12‑week summer program starts May 17, 2027, offering hands‑on exposure to real projects and mentorship from senior staff.

As a summer intern, you will develop technical, social, and ethical skills, learn distribution design, assist with data collection, and participate in our power delivery and advisory teams.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited engineering program with an anticipated August 2027 or later graduation date.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Consulting Engineering, Electric Utility industry, or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with audiences.
• Able to take direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• No relocation or housing assistance provided.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical and professional skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering and distribution design.
• Work under guidance of experienced engineers on distribution projects.
• Assist with data collection and engineering consulting services.
• Support distribution planning, coordination, and studies for Medium Voltage systems.
• Complete training on assigned tasks and adhere to company policies.
