Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Engineering (ESSP) Intern in Phoenix, AZ (San Diego also considered) to work on electrical studies and SCADA for utility and industrial clients. This 12-week summer program begins May 17, 2027, with a flexible start date and emphasis on mentorship and professional development.

Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate program (Aug 2027 or later). Travel occasionally and authorization to work in the United States are required.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Electrical Engineering, consulting engineering, or electric utility industry.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from leadership and mentors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in electrical studies and develop/troubleshoot SCADA systems for utility and industrial clients.
• Support power system planning studies like power flow and automation of simulations.
• Design and configure networking for SCADA and protection systems and assist with on-site commissioning.
• Develop logic and control schemes for power system equipment and perform data transfer commissioning.
