Job summary

Basin Electric Power Cooperative invites qualified students for a STUDENT INTERN - ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING position at the Dakota Gasification Company in Beulah, ND. This 2027 summer internship offers hands-on experience in electrical, instrumentation, and control maintenance with PM/PdM support.

Responsibilities include scoping, design, and troubleshooting under supervision, applying NEC standards, and producing as-built documents while coordinating with Operations and Maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a full-time electrical engineering student in ABET-accredited program.
• GPA of 2.5 or higher is required.
• Transcript must be attached at time of application.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Develop scopes of work and engineering packages under supervision.
• Assist in electrical, instrument, and control system projects for plant operations.
• Familiarize with National Electric Code and relevant standards.
• Assist in specifying equipment and maintaining standardization.
• Review inventory levels and support BOM revisions.
• Produce as-built documentation for electrical and control systems.
• Provide technical support to operations, planning, and maintenance.
• Attend scheduled safety and department meetings.
