Job summary

Basin Electric Power Cooperative is seeking a summer intern to support the Dakota Gasification Company in Beulah, ND. The role focuses on electrical, instrumentation, and control systems with supervision, assisting engineering and maintenance to reduce losses and ensure safe operations during the May–August 2027 window.

The position provides exposure to cooperative operations, with tasks aligned to your field of study and ongoing safety and training requirements.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a four-year Electrical Engineering program with ABET accreditation.
• Sophomore year completed or recently graduated.
• Maintain GPA at least 2.5.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Transcript required at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Develop scopes of work, preliminary and final electrical engineering research, and project justifications under supervision.
• Assist in planning and implementing electrical, instrument, and control system projects.
• Support maintenance with PM and PdM coordination and documentation.
• Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams as needed.
• Participate in safety trainings and department meetings.
