Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is looking for an Engineering Intern to support standard engineering tasks, assist lead engineers, and contribute to project duties across market segments from its Raleigh, NC campus. You’ll gain exposure to design and documentation activities, with emphasis on learning and applying engineering methods.

The role requires pursuing a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with ABET accreditation preferred, and a strong academic standing.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled and in good standing in a related post-secondary program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tasks that may include filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentation.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Involvement on campus or in the community preferred.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where this position is located.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.

Education

Bachelor’s degree pursuit in Electrical Engineering or related field

ABET accreditation preferred

Currently enrolled in post-secondary education/technical program

GPA 3.0 strongly preferred

Prior internship/related consulting experience preferred
