Job summary

SSOE seeks an Electrical Engineering Department Manager to lead our Hillsboro and Scottsdale teams, shaping electrical infrastructure for high‑tech facilities. You will guide design delivery, mentor engineers, and manage budgets while driving innovation and growth.

As the technical leader, you will oversee complex electrical systems, coordinate with multi‑discipline leads, and champion professional development including PE licensure support and training programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Active PE license in state practice or reciprocity desirable.
• Experience in electrical engineering design for industrial/high-tech facilities.
• Leadership experience with direct reports and team development.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Experience managing departmental budgets and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop electrical engineers, designers, and staff.
• Develop training programs including onboarding and continuing education, PE licensure support.
• Set strategic plans for the Electrical Department aligning with business goals.
• Oversee staffing, recruitment, and workforce planning for current and future projects.
• Provide technical leadership and responsibility for complex design reviews.
• Manage budgets, schedule performance, and project profitability.
• Collaborate with discipline leads to integrate electrical systems in complex facilities.
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of innovative tools and methods.
