Job summary

SSOE Group seeks an Electrical Engineering Department Manager to lead a team delivering electrical design for semiconductor tool installs and facility modifications in a dynamic, high-tech setting. You will guide planning, execution, and startup, ensuring code-compliant, safe, and constructible designs while mentoring staff and supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Active Professional Engineer license is highly preferred or the ability to obtain reciprocity.
• Progressive electrical engineering experience in industrial, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, or high-tech facilities.
• Leadership experience with direct reports, coaching, mentoring, and workload planning.
• Strong background in electrical design for tool install, power distribution, and facility systems.
• Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines from planning through startup.
• Ability to manage departmental budgets, staffing, and project financial performance.
• Experience supporting business development, client interaction, and proposals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the electrical engineering department supporting tool install projects, including staffing, workload planning, performance management, mentoring, and technical development.
• Oversee electrical design execution for semiconductor tool install and facility modification projects, including power distribution, equipment hookup, grounding, raceway routing, emergency power, and related support systems.
• Direct development and review of electrical calculations, load analyses, short-circuit and coordination studies, voltage drop checks, equipment sizing, and constructability reviews.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams to align electrical scope with project objectives and site requirements.
• Establish and implement QA/QC processes, internal design reviews, and technical standards to ensure accurate, code-compliant deliverables.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project managers during pre-design, detailed design, construction, and startup.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, and change control for electrical deliverables, including risks and design impacts.
• Prepare and support proposals, fee estimates, staffing plans, and technical input for business development.
• Ensure designs reflect applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and owner criteria for semiconductor environments.
