Job summary

SmithGroup Pittsburgh is seeking Electrical Engineering undergraduates for a full-time cooperative education position on the Power, Utilities and Infrastructure Team. The program offers three rotations alternating with academic semesters to provide progressive hands-on experience in electrical infrastructure and design.

Ideal candidates are at least sophomores in an accredited EE program and have experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office.

Qualifications

Completed at least their sophomore year in an accredited electrical engineering program by the time of the first rotation.
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Work on integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
Assist in the design of power, lighting, or other special systems in Revit 3D modeling software.
Perform project specific calculations such as load calculations and lighting calculations.
Participate in power system studies using SKM software.
Assist in equipment sizing and selection.
Assist with system development studies and planning for medium voltage campus power systems.
Participate in design meetings.
Receive mentorship from experienced engineers.
Visit a construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.
Responsibilities will continually increase with successive rotations.
