Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, invites engineering students to join its hands-on electrical design co-op in Boston. The role focuses on learning how to design and implement electrical systems and energy-efficient measures for building projects under the guidance of professional engineers.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, preferably sophomores or juniors, with experience in AutoCAD or REVIT and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior.
• Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work full time during the co-op term and travel locally for job sites.

Responsibilities

• Learn and implement electrical system basics such as power distribution, lighting controls, and fire alarm systems for new and renovation projects.
• Produce detailed layouts and equipment details for electrical systems of buildings.
• Create one-line diagrams and schematics.
• Assist in assembling organized sets of drawings with the design team.
• Support data collection and field verification activities.
• Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop project scopes.
