Job summary

Atlas Copco North America LLC in Indiana seeks an Electrical Engineer to develop and detail core electrical components and assemblies for vacuum pump systems. You will contribute to how we create high-quality products and solutions for customers, working with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes designing electrical systems, creating drawings, and documenting BOMs while ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA79, UL 508A standards, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or associate's degree with related experience.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
• Familiar with NEC, NFPA79 and UL 508A standards; international standards a plus.
• Ability to produce a design package containing an electric schematic, subpanel arrangement and enclosure assembly.
• Experience with motors, drives and PLCs preferred.
• Industry 4.0 and connectivity trends knowledge a plus.
• Experience with 3-phase circuits and control panels.
• Interfacing with intercompany departments, vendors, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Work with mechanical engineers and customers to develop electronic controls and power systems for integrated vacuum systems.
• Design electrical systems for assigned projects including developing the appropriate drawings.
• Interpret customer specifications and application requirements to develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
• Create and maintain bills of materials (BOMs), component selections, and supporting engineering documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Production and Test teams to support manufacturing, troubleshooting, validation, and successful project completion.
• Manage engineering projects from inception through shipment, ensuring customer requirements, timelines, and deliverables are met.
• Interpret customer specifications and application requirements to develop electrical schematics and control panel layouts.
