Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer for utility-scale power/storage projects. This is a remote/virtual position with the candidate able to be based anywhere in the United States.

Join our Consulting group to support gas generation, renewables, battery energy storage, and utility planning/advisory practice areas. The role involves owner’s engineer engagements, EPC review, technical specification work, and coordination with developers, lenders, and owners to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 5+ years of utility-scale power/storage project design.
• Experience in power projects as part of EPC team or Owner’s Engineer is a plus.
• Auxiliary power system design experience (gas-fired combined cycle) is a plus.
• Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and/or reviewing EPC RFP packages and technical specifications.
• Evaluating EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractors.
• Providing technical support during negotiations of EPC contracts.
• Preparing or reviewing specifications for main power transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment.
• Reviewing EPC contractor electrical drawings and supporting calculations.
• Reviewing designs for simple/combined cycle, renewable low-voltage DC/AC systems, AC collection for solar/batteries, substations, and gen-tie transmission.
