Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Consulting group for electrical power projects. The role focuses on utility-scale power/storage design, EPC packages, and owner’s engineer engagements across the United States.

Responsibilities include reviewing EPC contracts and specs, supporting negotiations, and evaluating transformer, switchgear, and interconnection designs. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering design of utility-scale power/storage projects.
• Experience in power projects as part of EPC team or Owner’s Engineer is a plus.
• Auxiliary power system design experience (thermal power generation, preferably gas-fired combined cycle) is a plus.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Solid interpersonal skills and ability to guide others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or review EPC RFP packages and technical specifications.
• Evaluate EPC proposals to assist selection of preferred EPC contractors.
• Provide technical support during negotiations of EPC contracts.
• Prepare or review specifications such as main power transformers, switchgear, and other electrical equipment.
• Review EPC contractor electrical engineering design drawing packages and supporting calculations across various systems.
