Job summary

NorthStar Energy Services, a Quanta Services company, seeks an Electrical Engineer, P.E. to lead electrical design for energy, petrochemical, and industrial facilities. The role emphasizes arc flash studies, protection systems, and compliance across the project lifecycle.

You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, perform advanced analyses in ETAP/SKM, and deliver safe, constructible designs while supporting QA/QC and project execution. Texas licensed preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 6–10 years of total engineering experience with 6+ years in electrical engineering for midstream energy, petrochemical, or industrial facilities.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required, preferably in Texas.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, or equivalent electrical analysis software.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, or equivalent tools.
• Strong familiarity with industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical engineering analysis and system studies (arc flash, short circuit, relay coordination, motor starting, voltage drop, load flow).
• Develop electrical system designs (one-line diagrams, motor control schematics, conduit and cable schedules).
• Size and specify power distribution, control equipment, and protection systems.
• Support area classification studies, overhead distribution, conduit design, and BESS integration.
• Review process and mechanical documents to ensure alignment with facility requirements.
• QA/QC reviews of drawings, calculations, and documents; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
