Job summary

NorthStar Energy Services, a Quanta Services, Inc. company, seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer, P.E. to join our Professional Engineering Consulting team in Baton Rouge, LA and Houston, TX.

This role focuses on design and execution of electrical systems for energy, petrochemical, and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate has 6–10 years of engineering experience with at least 6 years in electrical engineering and a P.E. license (Texas preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6–10 years total engineering experience with 6+ years in electrical design.
• Texas P.E. license preferred.
• Experience with ETAP, SKM, or equivalent software.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Familiar with NFPA 70, NESC, IEEE, NEMA, IES, UL.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical engineering analysis and system studies (arc flash, short circuit, relay coordination, motor starting).
• Develop electrical system designs including one-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Size and specify distribution, control equipment, and protection systems per project requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and integrate codes/regulations into designs.
• Support project execution with field site assessments and RFI responses.
