Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, VA, seeks an Electrical Engineer to design and support complex electrical systems for our nuclear facilities.

You will collaborate with facility engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations aligned with BWXT's mission. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, 2+ years of design experience, knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E/79 and OSHA standards, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology with 2+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code, NFPA 70E and 79, and 29 CFR 1910 OSHA.
• Willing to work during annual plant shutdown and support occasional emergencies (<5%).

Responsibilities

• Design complex electrical systems for facility infrastructure including substations and switchgear.
• Review and write technical specifications for facility equipment and buildings.
• Manage projects involving electrical infrastructure additions, replacements, and modifications.
• Collaborate with facility engineers, contractors, and maintenance teams for safe execution.
