Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Lynchburg, Virginia, is seeking an Electrical System Design Engineer to join the System Design team.

You will develop electrical schematics, analyze requirements, and coordinate with mechanical, system, nuclear engineers, and suppliers to deliver robust designs for advanced manufacturing, medical radioisotopes, and reactor projects. The role requires a BS in engineering, 4+ years of relevant experience, strong communication, and the ability to obtain security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or related engineering.
• Minimum four years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to recognize and solve technical problems.
• Self-directed with minimal supervision; capable of teamwork and independent work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain DOE/DOD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering documentation and drawings from requirements.
• Drive requirements for tests and data analysis.
• Support procurement of components per BWXT specs.
• Lead creation of electrical schematics.
• Coordinate with mechanical, system, nuclear engineers.
• Present design results to stakeholders.
