Job summary

KCC is seeking an Electrical Engineer for New Product Development. You will design and verify electrical systems for cutting-edge HVAC equipment, bringing concepts to customer-ready products with emphasis on safety, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.

You will work to meet regulatory requirements, optimize designs using new technologies, and contribute to cross-functional collaboration within a state-of-the-art testing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with electrical systems in HVAC or similar.
• Knowledge of safety standards and NFPA 70.

Responsibilities

• Design and verify electrical schematics in AutoCAD.
• Calculate key electrical data for commercial HVAC equipment.
• Collect and analyze performance and component data.
• Troubleshoot and test electrical systems.
• Conduct safety and performance tests on prototypes.
• Define wiring and installation practices.
• Stay updated on industry standards such as UL 60335-1.
• Implement system improvements and new processes.

Summary: Join our innovative team as an Electrical Engineer! You'll design and implement electrical systems for cutting-edge HVAC equipment, using the latest tech to ensure safety and reliability. You'll take a product from concept to customer focusing on product design and validation, manufacturing efficiency, and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Design and verify electrical schematics in AutoCAD and develop automation.
• Calculate key electrical data for commercial HVAC equipment.
• Collect and analyze performance and component data.
• Troubleshoot and test electrical systems.
• Conduct safety and performance tests on new prototypes.
• Set up and communicate wiring and component installation practices.
• Stay updated on industry standards (ex: UL 60335-1, UL 60335-2-40).
• Define and implement system improvements.
• Use new and existing technologies to optimize designs.
• Implement creative new processes for streamlining workflows and boosting collaboration.

Key Skills:

• Skilled with hand tools, gauges, multimeters, and power equipment.
• Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Controls Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Safety training (arc flash, lockout/tagout).
• Ability to diagnose electrical circuits (24V AC/DC to 575V).
• Knowledge of electrical hazards, Lockout/Tagout, and industry codes (NFPA 70).
• Ability to read and understand schematics and system drawings
