Job summary

KCC Companies is seeking a Product Engineer to collaboratively and independently design, support, and manufacture HVAC products. You will help take a product from concept to customer with emphasis on internal systems, performance components, manufacturing efficiency, and engineering data.

Join a team focused on innovative HVAC solutions, with responsibilities spanning design, testing, supplier collaboration, and ERP/CPQ data maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 2-7 years of experience in an engineering or technical environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to analyze interdependencies of systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze systems and components related to the operation of HVAC equipment.
• Collaborate with suppliers on design of alternative components.
• Contribute to design of new products and improvements to existing products.
• Research and evaluate parts and processes for performance, cost efficiency and reliability.
• Collect and interpret test results and recommend design changes.
• Provide finalized design data to ERP and CPQ configurators.
• Collaborate with designers on systems and subassemblies for manufacturing.
• Create process documents and best practices.
• Perform competitive cost analysis.
• Assist Purchasing with evaluating RFPs and RFQs.
• Maintain personal protective equipment and contribute to organizational goals.

You will learn how to take a product from concept to customer with a focus on internal systems, performance components, manufacturing efficiency, and engineering data.

Essential Functions:

• Design and analyze systems and components related to the operation of HVAC equipment
• Collaborate with suppliers on the design of alternative components
• Contribute to the design of new products and improvements to existing products
• Research and evaluate parts and processes for performance, cost efficiency and reliability
• Collect and interpret test results and recommend appropriate design changes
• Provide finalized design data to maintain ERP and CPQ system configurators
• Collaborate with Designers in the design of systems and subassemblies ready for manufacturing

• Work closely with the purchasing department to evaluate RFP's and RFQ's

Additional Responsibilities:

• Accomplishes Product (organizational) goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
