Job summary

KCC Companies in Louisville, KY is seeking an HVAC Product Engineer to drive design, analysis, and optimization of commercial HVAC systems from concept to production.

You will partner with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Purchasing, applying industry standards and delivering accurate documentation while supporting continuous improvement and innovation across legacy and next-generation products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, and optimization of commercial HVAC systems to ensure performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Production, Sales, Applications, and Field Support to troubleshoot and support the product lifecycle.
• Drive high-priority engineering projects, perform testing and root-cause analysis, and implement design improvements.

Summary:

KCC, a leader in climate control technology, is seeking an HVAC Product Engineer to help drive innovation across our legacy andnextgenerationproduct portfolio. This role combines deep technicalexpertisein commercial HVAC design withhandsonproblem solving andcrossfunctionalcollaboration with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Purchasing to bringhighqualitycommercial HVAC equipment from concept to production.

Responsibilities:

Lead Product Design:Drive the design, analysis, and optimization of commercial HVAC systems and components, ensuring high performance, reliability, and manufacturability.

Champion Product Support:Partner with Production, Sales, Applications, and Field Support teams to troubleshoot issues, enhance product operation, and support the full product lifecycle.

Develop Innovative Solutions:Take ownership ofhighpriorityengineering projects, conducting testing,rootcauseanalysis, and implementing design improvements that elevate product performance.

EngineertoOrderExpertise:Evaluate custom customer requests and create tailored engineering solutions that balance innovation, feasibility, and cost.

Collaborate with Suppliers:Work directly with vendors to engineer new components, explore alternativematerials, andenhance design quality and supply continuity.

Drive Continuous Improvement:Identifyand execute enhancements to existing products, processes, and systems that improve performance, reducecost, and increaselongtermreliability.

Ensure Regulatory Excellence:Analyze test data and apply required changes tomaintaincompliance with all relevant technical, functional, and industry standards.

Create Clear Documentation:Partner with Sales, Production, and Engineering to developaccurate,customerfriendlyproduct documentation and supporting materials.

Deliver Accurate Technical Guidance:Provide precise andtimelyengineering information to internal teams and external partners, ensuring alignment and clarity.

Invest in Ongoing Learning:Stay current with applicable industry standards (ASHRAE, AHRI, ANSI, etc.) and emerging HVAC technologies to support continuous professional growth.

Qualifications:

Required

Bachelor’s degree inMechanicalEngineeringor a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

• Strongproficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new engineering software.
• Demonstratesproblemsolvingability with a solid understanding of mechanical and HVAC engineering principles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to performhandsontesting, troubleshooting, and product evaluation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with external partners.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to evolving project requirements in a fastpacedenvironment.

Preferred

• Advanced coursework or certifications related to mechanical or HVAC engineering.
• Experience withindustryspecificengineering software (e.g., CAD tools, modeling/simulation packages).
• Prior experience in product testing, development, or evaluation environments.
• Experience collaborating withcrossfunctionalengineering or manufacturing teams.
